Alaskan Mortuary originally started as Carter Funeral Home in 1925 and was located in Downtown Juneau. In 1968, it was bought by Jim Hieber and moved to present location of 3839 Riverside Drive. In 1968 was the year the cemetery, Alaskan Memorial Park, was opened with its first burial.

It is the only endowment care cemetery in Southeast Alaska and we take special care to keep the grounds maintained and beautiful.

Alaskan Mortuary is Alaskan family owned and operated with staff who are part of the community and take special care of each family.
