Legacy Funeral Homes COVID-19 VIRUS POLICY

 State of Alaska and City of Anchorage mandates our Funeral Homes and our Crematories are implementing the following protocols:

1.    All Funeral and Memorial Services will be limited to a maximum of 10 people at any given time during the duration of service all while maintaining Social Distancing of at least 6 feet for those in attendance.

2.   All Viewings will also be limited to a maximum of 10 people or less at any given time during the duration of the viewing while maintaining Social Distancing of at least 6 feet for all attendees.

3.   All “in-house” arrangement conferences with Next-of-Kin and any other family representatives will be limited to a maximum of 3 people or less at any given time during the duration of the conference while maintaining Social Distancing of at least 6 feet for those attendees.

4. The Covid-19 crisis is changing rapidly, Legacy may or will have to change its polices and procedures at any time, especially as our state and local governments put in place new or additional mandates. Please check back with us often for updates and how they may affect our/your situation. 

5. NOTE: If you are ill or think you maybe ill or if anyone exhibiting any signs of any type of illness will not be allowed entry into our facilities to protect our staff and other families we serve. There will be no exceptions to this policy.  

6. Upon request, Legacy will provide live streaming of services at no additional charge, provided connectivity is available and uninterrupted. Family is welcome to use Facebook Live too. 

7. Legacy will be honored to post your obituary notice free of charge on our website. 

8. Copy of State Mandate 10  &  COVID-19 Health Mandate 011 - Social Distancing - SECTION 5 reads: "All individuals shall cease participation in public or private gatherings that include non-household members, regardless of the number of people involved. This includes, but is not limited to, weddings, faith gatherings, graduations, and funeral events."

9. Copy of Municipality of Anchorage Mandate EO3 & EO5    

Please note: Majority of arrangements can now be done via electronic means. We have also updated our Website under the Tab RESOURCES & FORMS. Here you will find all the documents and forms you will need to provide us, along with additional information and resources.

Please consult with our Funeral Directors and office advisers on how to do this. This Policy will remain in effect until the State of Alaska updates any further protocols.

We do apologize for any inconveniences these new protocols may have. However, Legacy’s commitment to you and your families has been and always will be to assist your loved ones with the greatest care. We will maintain if not improve our level of service at this time. With this in mind, we are as committed in assisting our state and local government agencies and their concerns for the public's general health and safety while concurrently keeping the health and safety of our employee that serve you and the community as a whole, remain safe ourselves.
